Consultation has concluded

This consultation will close on Friday, November 18.

To aid in their consideration of new rules and regulations for the City of Powell River's three harbours, City Council directed staff to conduct more public engagement.

This is your space to ask questions and get correct answers back. Without this tool, misinformation becomes more common as participants turn to social media to find answers. The answers you get here are the truth.

We analyze incoming questions to understand which areas of the consultation might need more information or are of more concern to the community.

While most questions are applicable to the wider community, some tend to be more personal. In those cases, we will respond privately.

Please Note - We are unable to answer some of your questions until the report is released publicly on Friday, November 18. All of your questions and ideas will be included in the report to be presented to the Finance Committee at their meeting on Thursday, November 24 at 3:30 pm, Council Chambers, City Hall.

The questions are closely monitored 24/7, so that we can provide a safe space for all participants.

Thank-you for your question. The boat launch fee is collected by way of the parking charges.

Thank you for your question. This is an operational question but we can shed some light.

The top of the waitlist was mostly people who turned down spots year over year. When a spot became available, staff would have to keep it open for a few weeks before getting to the part of the list that had a boat and was ready to be in the harbour. Staff want to minimize time that a spot is not filled. This is out of the scope of this information page and the updates that will be presented at the Finance Committee. Please direct further follow up questions to the wharfinger.
