The purpose of the Finance Committee meeting is to discuss the proposed changes and for staff to receive direction. If the Finance Committee is in favour of any of the changes, the bylaws will be referred to Council meetings in December for further discussion, possible first, second and third readings, and then adoption. The Finance Committee does not have the authority to read or adopt bylaws.
Please note that we have had a number of requests from members of the public to be delegations regarding the Harbour Rates Bylaw, but all requests were received after the deadline to apply to appear.
The next opportunity for the public to ask questions will be at the conclusion of the Finance Committee meeting.

Increase rate to those operating business out of the marina
Fishing guides, charter companies or other businesses should pay more for use of the marina

Transient rate and spots available.
Have visited many marinas north and south of PR, our transient rate should be at least 1.85$ per foot for the boating season. With over 700 linear feet of transient space currently, revenue increase would be significant Transient spots could be increased if empty spots used in the north harbour, change gates to key pad entry like other marinas.

Tax relief
Tax relief is offered to multiple community organizations. Why not offer the permissive tax relief to the marina as a whole or residents using it for recreational use

Resident discount
Charge full rate or non city of Powell river resident surcharge to people not living in the city
