I would forget literally every single week if not for this - Jason L'Eane, Powell River

Do you sometimes forget your garbage day or want to know the pick-up day if there's a weather delay?

Sign up for our FREE Curbside notification system at powellriver.ca and you could WIN a free pass for the Recreation Complex.

Curbside allows you to find your pick-up schedule and calendar or register for reminder emails, texts and phone calls.

Enter your address and you're ready to go.

Waste collection is an ever-rising cost for the City, amounting to $540,000 in 2018. Curbside is an enhanced service for residents that includes helping lower the City's costs and reminding people that garbage left out can attract bears and other animals.

(Please Note - Some advertising mistakenly stated the contest winners could win a one-year adult pass for the Recreation Complex. That is incorrect. The prizes are free passes for a day for the Recreation Complex.)

Is there going to be a possibility of having the large automated bins that other communities have? It would be far more convenient to have such cans, paying annually for it (instead of garbage tags) instead of having to remember garbage tags or going out to Augusta.

The City will be conducting a public engagement process to collect feedback on garbage bin sizes for use with automated collection systems on City garbage trucks. No dates has been finalized for the public egagement.
