Climate Action in a Small Coastal Town
The City continues its progressive actions in 2020 toward greater sustainability and significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs.
In 2019, the City continued to strive in becoming more sustainable and reduce both its corporate and community carbon footprints, and you've been instrumental in achieving those goals. We look to you for helping us move forward.
The City has a five-point Climate Emergency Response, which includes:
a commitment to the City becoming carbon neutral in 2019 and beyond
direction to staff to prepare reports outlining recommended actions required to become carbon neutral
updating the community-wide target of reducing emissions
actions related to climate change mitigation and adaption, and plans needed to address the revised community emissions reduction target
